Audio Guide Texts
General Information in English and German

With the audio guides, visitors are able to listen to information in six languages (English, French, German, Hebrew, Italian, and Spanish) at various selected stations during a self-guided tour of both the outer area and the museum of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. The different texts should give visitors an overview of the history of the camp and provide basic information on themes regarding persecution and disenfranchisement. The audio guide’s context can be acquired online to help visitors to prepare for a visit to the memorial site or for use in discussing a previous visit. Please be aware that the texts on this website are available in English and German only.

Survivor Interviews in 11 Languages

The survivor or “eye witness” interviews supplement the general content of the audio guides. Camp survivors and liberators recall their experiences at Dachau in eleven different languages. They report on their own individual experiences from various stations. The film sequences, like the audio guides, correspond with their locations at the memorial site. Biographies on the eye witnesses supplement the interview sequences. The interview sequences on the audio guides are all original recordings.
