On
Wednesday, November 23, 2011, the Italian historian and filmmaker Marco
Coslovich will hand over the “Fondo Marco Coslovich” to the Dachau
Concentration Camp Memorial Site. This is a valuable film collection of almost
100 interviews with Italian survivors of the Nazi concentration camps. Marco
Coslovich has dedicated this impressive collection to the memory of his
grandfather, also named Marco Coslovich, who was imprisoned in Dachau
concentration camp and died there at the end of March 1945. At this
presentation evening he will tell about his work with surviving witnesses. The
film producer Felix Möller will explain the significance of interviews with
surviving witnesses in film productions. Dr. Gabriele Hammermann, director of
the Dachau Memorial Site, will provide an overview of the history of Italian
prisoners in the Dachau concentration camp. Excerpts from two interviews will
be shown. Begin: 7 p.m. in the Visitors’ Center of the Memorial Site.
