Exhibition “Blickwechsel – Vlasto Kopàč zeichnet das Konzentrationslager Dachau”

Opened on April 26 and created in close cooperation with the Museum of Modern History in Ljubljana, the exhibition “Blickwechsel” (“Another View”) presents a unique collection of secret drawings by the Slovenian architect Vlasto Kopàč (1913-2006). Some 30 drawings on small fragments of paper document the everyday routine shouldered by the prisoners, their feelings and the torments they had to endure during the camp’s final phase. At the opening the curator Dr. Michaela Haibl emphasized her personal commitment to have Kopàč’s return to the site of their creation for the first time. In addition to the exhibition itself, several transparent glass steles erected on the grounds of the Memorial Site, printed with drawings by the artist, reveal the historical perspective the prisoners had. The exhibition travels to Ljubljana to be shown at the Museum of Modern History from March 2013.
