2. Nature and purpose of processing
The recordings from representational events are used exclusively for the public relations work and documentation of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site. Through our public relations work, we aim to provide information about our goals and activities and to strengthen the social perception of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation and the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial. For this purpose, we process photographs and video recordings (including collection, storage and transfer to third parties (see 4.)) and publish images and video recordings in (print) publications (such as flyers, annual reports, presentations, etc.) of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation and the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, as well as on their websites and social media channels (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, BlueSky, LinkedIn). Additionally, we store images and video recordings in our archive. The Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site will make the commemorations available online as a livestream (e.g. via YouTube). The livestream will continue to be available online after the event.
3. Legal basis
The processing of photographs and video recordings and the publication of selected photographs and video recordings is carried out as part of our public relations work on the basis of Art. 6 (1) lit. e, (2), (3) GDPR in conjunction with Art. 4 (1) and Art. 5 of the Bavarian Data Protection Act (BayDSG).
4. Recipients
Video and photo recordings are published as part of press releases. For public relations purposes, they are posted on the website of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site and used for publications and, where applicable, on the social media channels of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, BlueSky, LinkedIn). In cases of cross-organisational interests (such as joint campaigns or collaborative public relations work), they are also published on the website of the Bavarian Memorials Foundation and its social media channels (LinkedIn and Instagram). As part of the archiving process, third parties may be granted access to the archived recordings under certain circumstances.
5. Storage duration:
Recordings made as part of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial’s public relations work are stored exclusively for this purpose. They will be retained for as long as necessary to serve the public interest in archiving the recordings (Art. 89 GDPR).
6. Providing prescribed or required:
The provision of your personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. However, without the production and publication of photographs and films, the full scope of our public relations work cannot be achieved.
