Commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the liberation of Dachau concentration camp

The central commemoration of the 81st anniversary of the Liberation of the Dachau Concentration Camp will take place on Sunday, May 3, 2026.
Dachau Memorial will be open to individual visitors during the usual opening hours. Audio guides in 18 languages are available. We ask for your understanding that unfortunately, no guided group tours will take place and that some buildings and parts of the grounds of the Memorial Site will need to be temporarily closed.
We kindly ask that you allow sufficient time for your arrival, as security checks will be conducted at all entrances.
Please note, that following items may not be brought onto the premises:
- Weapons of all kinds, incl. cutting and stabbing weapons, knives
- Bags and Rucksacks larger than DIN A4 format (21 x 29,7cm)
- Flags, banners & signs
- Tripods
- Glass bottles, Drinks > 0,5l
- Pepper Spray etc.
Dominique Boueilh, President of the Comité International de Dachau (CID), Karl Freller, Director of the Bavarian Memorial Foundation, and Dr. Gabriele Hammermann, Director of the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site, cordially invite you to take part in the commemorative ceremony to mark the 81st anniversary of the liberation of the Dachau concentration camp to be held on Sunday, May 3rd 2026.
